New Results for Non-perturbative O(a) Improvement in Light Hadrons *

چکیده
We have results from light hadron simulations in quenched QCD at β = 6.0 and 6.2 using non-perturbatively improved Sheikholeslami–Wohlert fermions in an effort to remove all O(a) effects. From looking at hadron masses and splittings and the RG-invariant quark masses (where we have one point at β = 5.7) we suggest this is plausible even with the limited data set. The interpretation of the decay constants appears to be less clear.

Recent results on light hadron and quark masses
Recent results for the spectrum of light hadrons provide clear evidence for the failure of quenched QCD and encouraging signs that simulations with dynamical sea quarks rectify some of the discrepancies, although string breaking has not yet been observed. The use of perturbation theory to match lattice quark masses to continuum schemes remains questionable, but non-perturbative methods are pois...

Perturbative QCD calculations of total cross sections and decay widths in hard inclusive processes A summary of the current understanding of methods of analytical higher order perturbative computations of total cross sections and decay widths in Quantum Chromodynamics is presented. As examples, the quantities σ tot (e + e − → hadrons), Γ(τ − → ν τ + hadrons) and Γ(H → hadrons) up to O(α 2 s) an...

We carry out the renormalization and the Symanzik O(a)-improvement programme for the static vector current in quenched lattice QCD. The scale independent ratio of the renormalization constants of the static vector and axial currents is obtained non-perturbatively from an axial Ward identity with Wilson-type light quarks and various lattice discretizations of the static action. The improvement c...

I review the light-cone Fock state represention and its associated light-cone factorization scheme as a method for encoding the flavor, momentum, and helicity properties of hadrons in the form of universal process-independent and frame-independent amplitudes. Discrete light-cone quantization (DLCQ) provides a matrix representation of the QCD Hamiltonian and a nonperturbative method for computin...
متن کاملThe Light-Cone Fock Expansion in Quantum Chromodynamics
A fundamental question in QCD is the non-perturbative structure of hadrons at the amplitude level|not just the single-particle avor, momentum, and helicity distributions of the quark constituents, but also the multi-quark, gluonic, and hiddencolor correlations intrinsic to hadronic and nuclear wavefunctions. The light-cone Fock-state representation of QCD encodes the properties of a hadrons in ...
